Not only in the coaching environment, the importance of building a personal brand is becoming increasingly important. It is directly related to the increase in competition in a given area and the effort to differentiate itself from the competition. Thus, having a well-mastered reputation management is one of the building blocks of a successful career and can bring a considerable head start over others. However, building a quality personal brand is not easy and fast. However, there are techniques and tools that can help us significantly, and these are the ones we would like to introduce to you. For a better idea, we also prepared two metrics that we use to evaluate their relevance. These are the Rate of Contribution to Good Reputation (MPDR) and Difficulty (O).
Certificates, certificates and other training (MPDR = low/O = medium)
We live in a world where there is no shortage of educational programs and all sorts of certifications. You can find a large number of them on the Internet, and their quality is not easy to navigate. The situation can be somewhat likened to owning a driver's license. Not everyone with a license is a good driver and, conversely, a person without one does not necessarily have to drive badly (leaving aside the legislative side of the matter).
If someone has it, we know that the person has successfully passed some course. But we no longer know how much “mileage” she has, where she drove everywhere, what car and what condition her car is in (if we stick to the example with a driver's license).
In a very simple way, we can say that certifications provide a certain awareness, which, however, is often unclear and, especially for amateur trainees, illegible.
Recommendation from a loved one (MPDR = very high/O = high)
One of the strongest motivators, many surveys report that more than 90 percent of all people give on a recommendation from an acquaintance. If you get into a situation where every client who walks away from you is recommending you everywhere without mentioning “but” in the same sentence, you probably won the jackpot and you don't need to read on. :-)
This means that he is enthusiastic about your service, perceives the trainings with you as a great happiness and takes the service as unparalleled. Such a client is walking quality and free advertising. Get a few and you don't have to worry about your community, you're going to win this race.
Professional achievements of the coach or clients (MPRD = high/O = very high)
There are countless competitions where you or your confidant can “flash” yourself. At the imaginary top is then a picture on a box with a yellow plaque on the neck and five circles in the background. However, for ordinary mortals, we have other achievements that will resonate nicely in the minds of your potential clients. I'm sure your potential clients will be interested if your current ones say, for example, this:
Social media and custom website (MPDR = medium/O = high)
Who today is not on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok as if he were not. Unfortunately, this also brings a rather big problem in the form of huge competition. They try to push several thousand pieces of information into the user feed every day, and only a fraction succeeds, which the algorithm evaluates as relevant to the user.
Making quality content for social media so that it has a relevant reach while delivering business results is a long and challenging task, especially when we consider that organic reach (i.e. without paid support) is declining every year. However, if you manage to captivate your target audience, deliver relevant messages regularly and turn your fans into paying clients, you win. So that the journey is not so painful, a quality advertising campaign can help us in this.
Paid advertising (MPDR = medium/O = medium)
With the development of digital marketing, most of the barriers associated with buying media space have fallen, so today practically everyone can get their “piece of fame” for relatively little money. Above all, social media platforms offer a plethora of formats and targeting to help you reach relevant audiences and gain new clients. The obstacle is the complexity of advertising systems, the mastery of which requires hours of study so that one does not waste money. Pressing the “Promote” button will not bring you much happiness. If you don't want to spend time learning, check out our marketing packages (LINK), where our professional team will take care of your promotion.
Quality and Review Score (MPDR = high/O = low)
Shopping behaviour surveys show that more than three-quarters of shoppers research user reviews from strangers before buying. In the world of sports, the same applies, especially if you want to start and do not know how. There are several ways to access the reviews and experiences of others, but most of them encounter one fundamental problem - the anonymity of the authors. In other words, virtually anyone can write a review to a coach without having to complete the training at all, which in some cases creates a strongly untrustworthy environment.
The solution that we decided to implement in the Banana Sport application is to condition the review and evaluation with payment for the lesson completed. Thus, clients not only get a better overview of the continuous quality of the trainer (evaluation takes place after each training session), but most importantly, they know that it is written by a real client after the completed lesson.
And that's it for today. We have tried to shed light on the basic techniques of personal reputation management and show their difficulty and potential benefit. Success in the form of a loyal and satisfied client community is likely to bring you a combination of several of them and it is up to you which path you take.
